The prolific start to the season for Clio Rally3, Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 continued this past weekend with an overall victory in Cyprus, significant successes in Belgium, and other strong results in Germany, Croatia, France, Portugal and Italy.

Belgian Rally Championship

Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 made a great start to the season in Belgium at the Rally van Haspengouw. Thomas Martens and Eddy Smeets dominated their class to win RC3 and finish in the top ten overall. Meanwhile, Lény Cols and Pascal Lopes made a triumphant return to their Clio Rally5 after their first outing with Clio Rally3 at the Monte-Carlo Rally. The duo won the RC5 and the BRC Trophy while finishing runners-up in the Juniors, ahead of the other Clio Rally5 of Thyrsa Eertmans and Justine Demeestere, winners in the Lady Cup.

Cyprus Rally Championship

Clio Rally3 won overall at the East Safari Rally, the Cyprus Rally Championship season-opener. 2019 national champion Petros Panteli set the best time on the nine special stages of the course around Paralimni to win with a lead of almost a minute, with his co-driver Antonis Chrysostomou. The duo leads the general classification on the strength of this success on a mix of gravel and tarmac.

French Rally Cup

Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 achieved a double victory at the Rallye Bordeaux Aquitaine with the success of Christopher Touvron and Ophélia Chaigne, sixth overall and winners in Rally4, and Julien and Amandine Borderie in Rally5. Clio Rally5 also won its class with Néo Rivallant and Melvin Fraigne at the Rallye de la Côte Fleurie, where Laurent Fauguet and Olivier Chaufour in their Clio Rally4 finished on the podium in their category.

And elsewhere

Clio Rally3 also starred in Germany with the triple success of Klaus Werner and Mika Jordan at the ADAC Welfen Winter-Rallye Lauf (Germany). Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 were not to be outdone with a double win for the Acácio Arinto - Ana Santos and João Gago - Carlos Morgado crews in X5-16 and P2-4, the latter finishing fourth overall in the Rally de Inverno (Portugal). Still in Portugal, Pedro Gastão and Marco Macedo led Clio Rally5 to first place in R5 and RC5 at the Fibromade Rally Series Baltar. Elsewhere in Europe, Gabriele Priante and Mattia Pastorino won their class with Clio Rally5 at the Ronde del Canavese (Italy), as did Loris Nuyts and Guy Burniat at the B-Short de la L’Homme (Belgium) and Mattia Carlotto and Elia Ungaro in GR3 at Rallyday Two Castles (Croatia). In Spain, Miguel Vilares and José Manuel Sobrado also led Clio Rally5 to the class win at the Rally of La Mencía Villa de Cacabelos, just like Javier Vázquez and Antonio Díaz at the Rallycrono Ciudad de Córdoba (Spain).
