Clio Rally5 shined last weekend, claiming another world championship win and crowning its champions in the Canary Islands and Galicia. Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally4 also enjoyed success in France and across Europe.

Clio Trophy Canarias

At just 22 years of age, Héctor Mederos claimed the title in the second Clio Trophy Canarias season. On the Rally Isla de Tenerife, the Canarian co-driven by Miguel Reverón beat his last rival, Noé Armas, to seal the deal. With three wins from six rounds, the young up-and-comer succeeds Alejandro Martín, who confirmed his potential mainland by competing for the Clio Trophy Spain Asfalto crown this season.

Clio Trophy Galicia

Despite the victory of Gabriel Rodríguez and Álvaro Cerqueiras on the Rallye Ribeira Ría de Arousa, Diego Félix finished runner-up to take the inaugural Clio Trophy Galicia title. After winning the Rallye Sur do Condado and the Rallye Ourense Ribeira Sacra, the Ourense native missed out on his third win of 2023 by just 2.7s. Co-driven this weekend by Ían Quintana, he kept Joaquín Rasilla at bay to claim the crown, with his rival only fourth at the finish.

FIA World Rally Championship

Clio Rally5 scored the 21st world championship victory of its career at Forum8 Rally Japan. Mitsuhiro Kunisawa and Masahiko Kihara avoid the traps of the treacherous wet roads of Aichi Prefecture to win their class and finish 19th overall. The Japanese duo even beat several four-wheel-drive competitors from the higher categories on home soil.

French Rally Cup

Clio Rally3, Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 scored two new trebles in France. The three versions won their respective classes with Teddy Stique - Alexis Pigot (Rally3), Matthieu Commaille - Simon Guillaume (Rally4) and Pierre-André Albingre - Arnaud Gagnard (Rally5) on the Rallye du Grand Sénonais. Meanwhile, Simon Perdrix - Benjamin Desreaux (Rally3), Dominique Chibaudel - Vincent Deloustau (Rally4) and Teddy Turco - Bastien Dumas (Rally5) did the same on the Rallye Perpignan Roussillon Fenouillèdes.

Victorien Houyelle and Céline Berquez starred at the Rallye de Picardie with Clio Rally3, finishing third overall while winning their class, as did Robin and Laurent Mercier in Rally5. Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 also won at the Rallye de l’ASA Nancy with Nicolas Miclo - Brice Pierrat and Mickaël Marchal - Quentin Fagnone, while Maxime Gomez and Kévin Ramora were successful with Clio Rally5 on the Rallye du Bas-Vivarais.

And elsewhere

Clio Rally3 won again in Italy, this time with Mauro Zappettini and Davide Oberti on the tarmac of the Ronde Valli Imperiesi. Clio Rally5 also won its category with Alessio La Cola and Paolo Pontari. Other excellent results came on the Rally Città di Schio, where Giulia De Toni and Jessica Michela Perli won with Clio Rally4 in the Women’s category, and Edoardo De Antoni and Federica Mauri with Clio Rally5 in the Rally5 class.

In Portugal, António and Martim Santos finished eighth overall in their Clio Rally5 at the Rali de Cantanhede - Marquês de Marialva while leading a one-two for the model in P2-4. Clio Rally5 also won with Erik Sindermann and Matthias Pätzold at the ADAC rthb Rallye Hessisches Bergland (Germany), Benoit Verlinde and Juliette Tsjoen at the 6 Uren van Kortrijk (Belgium), Tomáš Štuksa and Ondřej Novák at theKeskomobile Autoshow Slovakiaring (Slovakia) and Tuncer and Asena Sancakli at the Ege Rallisi (Turkey).

Coming up

This week, Styve Juif will be back behind the wheel of Clio Rally5 as he attempts to seal his title in the Michelin Trophy on the Rallye du Var (24-26 November), the final round of the French Rally Championship, where Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally4 will also be in action. The three models will also be starting the Spa Rally (24-26 November) in the final round of the Belgian Rally Championship and several other European events.
