Even before it debuts in the French Junior FFSA Rallycross Championship, Clio RX is already following in the footsteps of Clio Rally and Clio Cup by beginning its international expansion.

With its technical and economic strengths making it the ideal learning platform for young hopefuls and drivers from other backgrounds, Clio RX will also feature in the Catalan Rallycross Championship (Campionat de Catalunya RXCAT) via the Clio RX Trophy.

Open to competitors of all ages and levels of experience, the Clio RX Trophy will be present at all five meetings of Spain’s first-ever championship dedicated to the discipline, all of which will take place at the Circuit de Calafat.

The format will follow the rallycross tradition with free practice preceding the qualifying heats setting the grids for the semi-finals, where the joker lap will be introduced. Each driver will compete two semi-finals, after which the six competitors with the most points will advance to the final.

Promotion of the Clio RX Trophy will be entrusted to V-Line Organización, the organizer of the Catalan Rallycross Championship, whose experience will guarantee fairness among all Clio RX Trophy competitors.

Staying true to their shared philosophy of detecting and promoting the best young drivers, Renault and V-Line Organización will offer an entry to one round of the 2022 FFSA French Junior Rallycross Championship to the highest-ranked junior at the end of the season. All Clio RX Trophy juniors will also be eligible for the Catalan Junior Rallycross Championship while a generous bonus system combining cash and spare-parts credits will also reward the overall top five at each event.
