Huge praise for 2019’s first R.S. Days

The first two R.S. Days of 2019, held at Silverstone over May 11 and 12, have been hailed as a massive success by Renault Sport fans – with positive guest satisfaction rates for the weekend topping 97%.

“I’ve really enjoyed the whole weekend,’ said one visitor. “The organisation was excellent and all the Renault Sport Staff were very friendly and professional.”

The R.S. Days took place under the bright blue skies of Spring and against the backdrop of two rounds of the 2019 Formula Renault Eurocup and the supporting Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup.

Some 51,000 spectators filled the stands of the home of British Motor Racing to witness the thrills and spills on the racetrack and give the weekend a real carnival atmosphere, with around 500 of them visiting specifically to take part in the R.S. Days – our fun-packed celebration of the marque that celebrates Renault’s long history in motor sports.

The event featured a host of things for visitors to see and do. R.S. fans got to admire legendary cars, ranging from the 1990 Renault 5 GT Turbo to the 2014 Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R, while owner-drivers could showcase their own Renault Sport Classic, R.S., GT and GT-Line models, as well as drive them in a parade around the race circuit.

Some 115 specially invited guests got to test drive the new Mégane R.S. Trophy, while a further 26 took advantage of the ‘Hot Laps’ package to take the car on a spin on the track itself.

The Renault Sport Centre was naturally dedicated to all things Renault Sport. Here visitors got to see several new Renault and Renault Sport models, as well as an F1 car decked out in Renault 2019 F1 livery. More driving action came in the way of an F1 Sim, and R.S. Performance accessories could also be picked up or ordered from the event’s pop-up store.

Over the course of the two days, R.S. Experts and team members were on hand to share their legends, stories and expertise, while guests who visited on the Saturday also got to enjoy a post-race cocktail in the company of some of Renault’s biggest names.

Little wonder then that visitors were giving the first two R.S. Days of 2019 an enthusiastic thumbs up and clamouring for a return to action next year.

“It’s been a wicked day. I’d definitely do it again,” commented one smiling fan, while another added : “It’s been very good. I hope it comes back in 2020.”

The next R.S. Days is at the Circuit De Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, on July 24.
