Alpine F1 Team has partnered with London-based start-up GPNFTS to deliver an exciting new interactive opportunity to motorsport fans via Alpine F1 Team non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

With NFTs set to play a key role within gaming and the metaverse in future, these officially-licensed products will enhance Alpine’s profile and desirability in the younger, technologically mobile and image conscious generation.

GPNFTS will provide Alpine F1 Team with a passport to the metaverse with two types of NFT minted to celebrate the association. The NFTs will feature intricate animated artwork depicting the Alpine A521, the car that won this year’s Hungarian Grand Prix.

Fifty NFTs will be aimed at the fan community while four highly-exclusive NFTs aimed at the cryptocurrency community as investments will also be auctioned online.

Both A521 cars of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon will carry GPNFTS branding at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend.

The partnership follows Alpine’s foray into the metaverse in November when it became the first major car manufacturer to launch into crypto art with the creation of five exclusive liveries of the Alpine GTA Concept.

GPNFTS Founder Ali Rafi said : "We’re different from everyone else. We want to demystify NFTs and open them up to everyone, including people who might not have thought that this was for them. As motorsport experts who have worked in the sport ourselves, we want to put the fan first and offer them stunning products have a genuine utility to unlock a whole new dimension. I’m delighted that Alpine shares our passion and our vision, at the intersection between fandom and technology. This fantastic partnership celebrates the end of one Formula 1 era that has been hugely successful for Alpine, and the start of an exciting fresh chapter next year with new technology and endless possibilities in the digital world.”

Cedric Journel, VP, Alpine Sales & Marketing : “The metaverse is a new and very exciting frontier for motorsports. We already know that our fans are passionate and want to feel closer to the team and our drivers. NFTs are a great way to own a very unique part of our F1 world and we are pleased to partner with GPNFTS to offer a one of a kind piece artwork or memorabilia to our community to really bring them into our family.”
