Clio Cup Series

As they did right after the summer break two weeks earlier at the Red Bull Ring, David Pouget and Anthony Jurado shared the spoils again in the Clio Cup Series and Clio Cup Europe at Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo. While the GPA Racing driver from Albi won on Saturday, his Milan Compétition counterpart from Montpellier fought back on Sunday to keep his title hopes alive. Twin brothers Adrian and Alejandro Schimpf won both Challengers and Clio Cup España races whilst Frenchman Lionel Viguier (T2CM) took a brace of victories in the Racers Cup.

Clio Trophy Belgium

Pierre-Manuel Brasseur kept his momentum going after winning the previous round on the home ground of rival Lander Depotter as he set the best time on nine of the 12 stages of the East Belgian Rally in the Clio Trophy Belgium season-final. However, first place and the title eluded him by 7.4s due to a one-minute penalty for clocking in too early. Victory and the crown went to Lander Depotter, who succeeds Gilles Pyck and Benoit Verlinde in the Clio Trophy Belgium. The 20-year-old driver and his co-driver, Jasper Maelfait, will contest two rounds behind the wheel of Clio Rally3 in 2024. His future ride won its category in the hands of Timothy Van Parijs and Piero Vandeputte, who also finished third in the Masters Cup of the Belgian Rally Championship.

French Rally Cup

Clio Rally3 also won in France with Thomas Battaglia and Marc Della-Pina on the Rallye du Suran, where Julien Charnay and Charlotte Baille won in Rally5 among the nine Clio Rally5 crews. There were also two category successes on Rallye des Noix de Firminy. Arthur Lecureux and Matthieu Marion were victorious in their Clio Rally3, as were Baptiste and Louis Mallon in their Clio Rally5. And on the Ronde de la Durance, Bernard Taffin and Éric Gastaldi won their category in their Clio Rally3, as did Claude and Patricia Benedetto in their Clio Rally4.

Meanwhile, Ludovic Lemoine and Antoine Brument won their class on the Rallye d’Envermeu in their Clio Rally4. Clio Rally5 was not to be outdone with triumphs for Pierre-André Albingre and Arnaud Gagnard at the Ronde de Quarré-les-Tombes, Sylvain Rouquette and Jean-François Assenat at the Rallye des Camisards, Jérémy Cenci and Carine Chauveau at the Rallye du Chasselas and Florian Bartaire and Marjolaine Patier at the Rallye Vienne et Glane.

Clio Rally3 continued its winning ways in Italy with Fabio Solitro and Rosario Navarra on Rally Porta del Gargano. In the same event, Andrea Innangi - Davide Storari and Antonio Passaseo - Daniel Passaseo scored a one-two for Clio Rally5 in RC5, whilst the Swiss duo of Kim Daldini and Celine Lachelin took victory in Rally5 among the eight Clio Rally5s entered in the Trofeo Villa d’Este ACI Como.

Elsewhere in Europe, Tim Wacker and Ann Felke led Clio Rally5 to victory in RC5 and eighth place overall at the ADAC Rally Kohle & Stahl (Germany), as did Jesé Ramos and Alejandro Falcón at the Rallysprint de Yaiza (Spain). In Slovenia, Martin Čendak and Jakob Markežič won the D1 and RC5 classes with Clio Rally5 on Rally Nova Gorica while finishing runner-up in the Slovenian Junior Rally Championship. Lastly, Simon Andersson and Jörgen Jönsson finished second on Lundasprinten (Sweden) while winning the two-wheel drive category with Clio Rally4.

In Latin America, Luis Eduardo Stedile and Carlos Enrique Morales excelled in their Clio Rally5, finishing fourth on the gravel of Rally Rio Negrinho, the venue for round five of the Brazilian Rally Championship. Victorious in two-wheel drive, the duo mathematically secured their title in the Rally4 category. On the same surface, Sebastian Guerrero and Edgar Parreño were the fastest among the five Clio Rally5s entered to run their winning streak to five on the Rally Provincia de Loja, round five of the Ecuador Rally Championship.

Coming up

This week, the Clio Trophy France Asphalte concludes on the Rallye Cœur de France. Benjamin Stirling has already secured the overall and Junior titles, but other crowns are up for grabs, particularly among the teams. Two Clio Rally3s and five Clio Rally4s will be in action in addition to the 32 Clio Rally5s in Vendôme.

Meanwhile, one Clio Rally4 and three Clio Rally5s will compete in Rally Chile BIOBÍO, round 11 of the FIA World Rally Championship. The fourth meeting of the Clio Trophy Canarias will also be staged on Rally Villa de Teror, while the Clio Rally5s of the Clio Trophy Italia and the Italian Junior Rally Championship will be in action on Rally Sanremo.
