The 2015 Coupe de France Renault Clio Cup kicked off at Nogaro last weekend, with Milan Competition making a fast start to the season thanks to wins for Xavier Fouineau and Marc Guillot.

As has long been the custom, the Easter Cup at Nogaro marked the start of the new Coupe de France Renault Clio Cup season, with Marc Guillot and Nicolas Milan securing the first two pole positions of the campaign.

Marc Guillot made the perfect getaway in the weekend’s opening race, while Xavier Fouineau ducked past Nicolas Milan to take second. Starting a lowly 12th, Mickael Carrée found plenty of pace to climb up through the field and into the top five, finishing behind Jean-Philippe Ligier.

Driving car No. 69, Jeremy Curty stole past poleman Nicolas Milan at the start of race two and looked set for victory, only to slide off on the final lap. Nicolas Milan managed to avoid the stricken Curty but lost valuable speed in the process, allowing Xavier Fouineau to snatch the win, with Milan having to settle for second place ahead of Marc Guillot.

Coupled with his second place in race one, the win puts Xavier Fouineau atop the overall standings with 83, just ahead of his team-mates Marc Guillot and Nicolas Milan, who lie on 79 and 72 points respectively.

The next round of the Coupe de France Renault Clio Cup takes place at the GT Tour meeting at Le Mans on 1-3 May.
